We are VERY excited to be able to offer a healthy alternative beverage. Locally brewed, BUCHI !!
Buchi is actually a cultishly popular brand of kombucha tea.
Containing only a .5 percent alcohol content— the cold, carbonated tea has an earthy appeal.
Buchi isn't just any Kombucha....Buchi is Asheville's own locally produced kombucha. Kombucha is an ancient cultured beverage which originated in the far east, where for thousands of years it was revered as "the Elixir of Life".
It is a living health drink full of probiotics, beneficial enzymes, vitamins, minerals and detoxifying organic acids. Buchi is handcrafted in small batches using organic tea, organic sugar, and fresh mountain water. It is naturally fermented by the kombucha culture.
Buchi is a hot commodity at the area’s outdoor festivals and sells in dozens of Asheville restaurants and Southeastern natural-food markets. We are excited to be able to offer it to our customers.

This Weeks Announcements
Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy live music at White Horse Black Mountain last week.
Black Mountain has a long history of great live music going back to the days of the original Grey Eagle , McDibbs, and other places where top quality music is presented in a comfortable, friendly listening environment. We are happy to be part of that continuing heritage here in Black Mountain and hope you'll continue to support this tradition.
Last weekend was a typical eclectic mix of great live music at the White Horse and we are thrilled to have seen so many new and old friends out having a great time. The jazz concert by San Francisco’s Charles Unger Experience was without a doubt one of the best live jazz shows in Western NC this year. It was great to see so many folks up dancing. Obviously our audiences love Jazz and we hope to have more great jazz at the White Horse in the future. The Business returned to White Horse Saturday with great dance music from the 60s and 70s …..we LOVE this band and are so glad that you do too. Motown and Stax are still alive and well in our hearts (and feet). The “Divas and Drafts” on Sunday was great music of a different sort….classical and show tunes.
This weekend we’re bringing in some new bands to the Black Mountain area which you may not have heard before. We’re excited about these shows and hope you’ll come explore some old songs from new sources. On Friday night, Southern Silk Duo will blend R&B standards with jazz and we think you’re gonna love ‘em. Our own Parker Brooks will open the show. On Saturday night, we’re featuring The Nanz Brothers from Montreat with a blend of strong vocal harmonies and great instrumental work and you’re gonna recognize some old favorites. Speaking of old favorites, White Horse co-owner Bob Hinkle will be returning to the stage to open the evening.
We are so grateful for the great feedback we receive from our audiences and we listen. We want to know what bands you like and what type of music you like to hear. We’ll continue to do our best to bring in a variety of music that you want to hear and in return we need you to do your part.
We need you to attend White Horse as often as possible and to bring your friends with you. We need you to be our ambassadors and help us get the word out to a broader audience. Share our newsletter with your friends, add their names to our mailing list, and help distribute flyers and posters.
This month there’s a very specific way you can support White Horse…..VOTE FOR US !!!!!!!
That’s right, Vote for White Horse Black Mountain as your favorite place to hear live music. Just follow the procedures in the article above.
Some of you have asked about the possibility of helping White Horse out as a sponsor or donor. We welcome sponsors of all types from businesses to individuals. There are many ways to be a “friend or sponsor” of White Horse Black Mountain. Some present and past donor/sponsors have helped us defray the costs of publicity and promotion on WNCW 88.7 and via various print media. Some have helped provide recycling services, food services, etc. Let’s talk.
There’s always a variety of things taking place here at White Horse and we’re excited to share this info with you via our newsletter. Thanks for taking the time to read and for passing along the information to your friends. Hope to see you here this weekend.

Lingua Musica Launches on Thursday August 12th

It’s going to be something totally new, not only to Western North Carolina but also distinctively different from anything we’ve heard of anywhere in the country. This mission of this new series is: To broadens the conversation of music with people around the globe.
Lingua Musica will feature music related panel discussions intermixed with a variety of singer/songwriters and bands. Listeners can chat online during the show and pose questions to the panelists. YOU have the opportunity to view it all unfold in person here at White Horse Black Mountain as part of our studio audience.
Anyone in the world with an internet connection will be able to view this program via their computer. Viewers and listeners can interact with panelists and musicians on the live show via Twitter and on-line forum chats.
(We like doing new and unique things here at White Horse and helping put Black Mountain on the national musical map)
The series creator, host, and moderator is Joe Kendrick of WNCW 88.7 FM radio and we are honored that he chose White Horse Black Mountain as the site for this new series.
Panel guests for the premiere include River Guerguerian, Steve McMurry, Jay Sanders, Fred Mills, Carol Rifkin and White Horse's own Bob Hinkle.
The featured band for the night will be Floating Action. Floating Action has rapidly become a favorite band throughout the southeast and features Black Mountain resident Seth Kauffman. (read more at www.myspace.com/floatingaction )
